Hagerstown Ultimate Frisbee

2007 playing year has arrived!!! 

This website has been created for the Ultimate Frisbee Club Team in Hagerstown, MD. Already, almost 1000 teams exist and play nationwide. We were formed in Feb 2006, and look forward to having fun, building relationships, and playing the greatest game known to man!

We friends, using the ubiquitous and self-imposed title 'the founders,' have temporarily named the team. All Ultimate teams must have a name, and so, to register on the UPA website (the official governing body of ultimate frisbee), we have chosen "The Hucking Heiskellers." Whether its for pride of our native city, for the double entendre, or for the sake of just having a name, we haven't quite decided.

"Ultimate is a fast paced, non-contact field game which involves running, throwing, catching and teamwork. The disc may be advanced only by completing a pass to a teammate. The goal is to complete a pass into the end zone to score a point. A team may throw as many passes as they wish and retains possession as long as the disc is in the air -- although the thrower has only 10 seconds to release a pass. All turnovers result in an immediate change of possession and a change of direction of play. Games are generally played to 15 points. Each point begins with a "pull" from end zone to end zone and teams switch ends after each score.

Ultimate is now played in over 30 countries at many competitive levels from casual summer leagues to national teams."

Ultimate is one of the few sports with a very open and nurturing environment. You don't need prior experience to come out and play. You don't need prior athletic experience to learn how to play. You don't need a lot of money to play. All that is required is enthusiasm, dedication, and a willingness to learn. We, and others, will teach you the rest!
